Abagana Community Intensifies Development Projects for Residents’ Welfare
ABAGANA COMMUNITY INTENSIFIES DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS TO IMPROVE RESIDENTS’ WELFARE

The Abagana community in Njikoka Local Government Area(LGA) has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development by intensifying projects aimed at improving infrastructure, sanitation, education, healthcare and the overall welfare of residents.
The renewed commitment was highlighted during a community meeting held on July 15, where leaders and stakeholders reviewed ongoing development initiatives, calling for greater community participation.
Speaking at the meeting, community leader, Engr. Ben Okongwu, said efforts are being intensified to encourage indigenes at home and in the diaspora to support projects that will enhance the town’s development.
Newera News gathered that priority areas include road maintenance, drainage improvement, environmental sanitation, and support for schools and healthcare facilities to improve the quality of life for residents.
Also speaking, the President-General of the town union urged residents to remain united and actively contribute to the progress of the community.
“The development of our community depends on our collective effort. Every resident has a role to play in building a peaceful, clean and prosperous Abagana,” he said.
Residents commended the contributions of the town union, women’s groups, youth organisations and philanthropists for supporting community development through voluntary services, environmental sanitation exercises and assistance to vulnerable members of the community.
One of the residents, Mrs. Ifeoma Okeke, expressed optimism that the ongoing projects would improve transportation, boost business activities and create a healthier environment.
She noted that better roads, improved drainage systems and a cleaner environment would significantly enhance the standard of living in the community.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by community leaders and residents to strengthen collaboration in promoting peace, unity and sustainable development across Abagana.
