APC Leads in 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election

APC Leads As INEC Uploads 1,258 PU Results from 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has established a clear lead based on the polling unit results so far uploaded by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Results so far uploaded on the INEC Result Viewing portal (IREV) show that the APC has won 84.1% of the votes from the Saturday election.
Newera News understands that as of the time of filing this report, results from 1,258 polling units out of 2,445 have already been uploaded to the INEC IReV.

A breakdown of the results shows that the APC has 78,979 votes, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has 10,736 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has 2,964 votes.
Meanwhile, youths at a polling unit in Ekiti State, on Saturday, chased away operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) who arrived at the centre to monitor the governorship election.
Newera News Correspondent reports that the incident occurred at Polling Unit 10, Ward B, Iyin-Ekiti.

The voters were confronting the anti-graft agency’s officials and demanding that they leave the polling area.
Officials of the EFCC were said to have visited the polling unit to monitor and prevent vote-buying during the election.

However, their presence was resisted by some voters, who questioned the deployment of EFCC officials to the polling centre.
