Naira Marley Set To Hold The First Drive-In Concert In Abuja Soon

Popular Nigerian musician, Azeez Fashola, known professionally as Naira Marley is set to hold a drive-in concert in Abuja. The show will be the first of its kind in the Federal Capital Territory.

A drive-in concert is an outdoor music show usually in a large parking area where audiences watch music performances from the comfort of their cars with the sound coming from their car stereo.

Naira Marley has been popular for his divergent views about issues and also for his different cases with the EFCC. He has managed to grow a loyal fan base regarded as Marlians, from different parts of the world for himself. During the coronavirus lockdown, he came out at different times to say he does not believe there is nothing like the coronavirus, this sparked lots of argument and disagreement on social media platforms.

The drive-in concert will hold on June 13 at the Silverbird Entertainment Centre in Abuja.

According to the show organizer, external drinks and foods will not be tolerated at the event. A designated driver is also mandatory for drivers.

Recall that the Lagos State Government recently did a test run of a drive-in concert over the weekend. The show was headlined by music star, Mayorkun.

Recall that another music artistes, Mayorkun, recently headlined a drive-in concert in Lagos organized in conjunction with Lagos State government. This was as the state commences gradual easing of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in the state.

The event had about 50 vehicles in attendance parked in line with physical distancing guidelines recommended by LASEPA.

Most of the attendees were safely seated in their vehicles. Some of them danced to the tunes of popular musician, Mayokun. Some of them listened to the performances through their car radio.  But all were within the marked spaces.
