Transfer: Iheanacho Could Return To Man City – Leicester Boss Revealed

Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers, has said there is every chance Kelechi Iheanacho could return to Manchester City.

Iheanacho has enjoyed a resurgence under Rogers and has impressed for the Foxes in his last few appearances. The Nigerian forward has spent three years at King Power and has two more left on his deal, which includes a buy-back clause.

“I’m not totally sure, but these things usually last the course of the first deal he signs.

“So, Iheanacho joined on a five-year contract in 2017, leading to 2022.

“Even if he negotiates an extended deal in that time, I’d expect the buy-back clause to still be applicable until 2022,” Rogers told Leicester Mercury.

Rodgers has recently continued to shower an encomium on Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho for his impressive performance.

it will be recalled that the former Manchester City attacker was the hero on Sunday as Foxes rallied back to beat visiting Everton FC 2-1 at the KC Stadium. He was introduced in the 62nd minute for Ayoze Perez, few minutes after he came on, he set up Jamie Vardy before he netted the winning goal in the 90th minute and secured maximum points for the former champion.

“It is pretty easy really. He [Iheanacho] understands the role that he is in. He knows he has to work hard.

“It will give him a huge boost of confidence. Everybody talks about his Man City chance, his growth since that. You can only do that when you’re working so hard.

“His finish was unbelievable. Everybody talks about VAR. But his goal was fantastic. His play was first class.” Rodgers said
