Breaking: Abule Egba On Fire As Pipeline Explodes, Residents Flee

A pipeline explosion has occurred in the Abule Egba area of Lagos which has forced many residents to flee the area for fear of been consumed by the inferno.

Our correspondent gathered that the fire started a few minutes ago following an explosion in the area which was reportedly caused by activities of pipeline vandals who burst one of the oil pipelines in the area to siphon the petroleum product.

The raging fire at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, pipelines at Ekoro. Several properties were said to have been destroyed.

Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Fire Service, Mr. Amodu, who confirmed the incident, said the number of casualties cannot be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
