Another superlative performance saw Chelsea advance to the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday after defeating Lille 2-1 on the night (4-1 on aggregate).
Burak Yilmaz scored from the penalty spot to cut the Blues’ two-goal first-leg lead, but Christian Pulisic quickly restored it and Cesar Azpilicueta sealed the match.
Pulisic scored a key goal for Chelsea on the stroke of half-time, bringing Chelsea level at 1-1. With his goal, the USA international secured a 3-1 lead on aggregate, with the half-time whistle coming right after his beautiful finish.

Lille put pressure on Chelsea as they tried to cut the lead in half, and they hit the post midway through the second half. Thomas Tuchel’s team, on the other hand, scored once more to secure their spot in the quarter-finals.
Chelsea captain Azpilicueta headed in Mason Mount’s cross to give the Blues a 2-1 lead and a 4-1 aggregate advantage.
