Bauchi Flood: Gov. Bala Mohammed Solicits FG’s Aid to Tackle The Menace
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has called on the Federal Government to come to the aid of the state to tackle the menace of incessant flooding.
The governor made the appeal when he visited some of the flood-affected communities in the state.
Following the recent downpour in Bauchi that led to the collapse of the bridge connecting Bauchi and Kano, and Bauchi to Plateau, Governor Bala Mohammed out of concern for the plight of the affected persons, embarked on an on the spot assessment visit, to sympathize and to see the level of damages caused by the flood.
As the people of the affected communities relocate to nearby communities, the governor assured of his administration’s commitment to providing relief support and called on the Federal Government to assist the state tackle the menace.
He also asked the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency to fix the affected federal roads, to reduce the hardship being faced by the people.
The collapsed Ningi – Kano Road Bridge led to the death of three persons.
