UAE Donates Humanitarian Items to Nigerian Army Women Towards Nation Building

The United Arab Emirates has donated sets of humanitarian items to the Nigerian Army Women Corps to support their effort towards peace, security and nation-building.

The donation is part of the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Women Peace and Security Initiative, led by the President of the General Women’s Union, in collaboration with the United Nations Women’s Program for Peace and Security, implemented by the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence.

The donated care packs were presented in recognition of the dedication of the Nigerian Army Women Corps towards peace and security.

The items, includes disposable face masks, disposable gloves, hand wash liquid, and other personal hygiene & sanitary materials.

 

During the handover at the Nigerian Army Headquarters, Abuja the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Fahad Al Taffaq said the gesture is a demonstration of UAE’s commitment towards encouraging equal and active participation of women across vital sectors particularly in security and peace efforts building globally.

Receiving the items, The chief of Army Staff, Major General, Farouk Yahaya appreciated the UAE government for the gesture and called for a stronger partnership between Nigeria and the UAE in critical areas of ensuring peace and security.
