Arsenal Goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez Waves Emotional Goodbye To Arsenal Ahead Of Aston Villa Transfer

The superlative Arsenal goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez is set to call time on his stay at the club after 11 years on the fringes of the first-team, and having won the FA Cup with the Gunners last year

Martinez has confirmed that he will leave Arsenal this summer in an emotional message to the club’s fans.

Having taken over from the injured Bernd Leno in goal at the tail end of last season, Martinez was in the Arsenal side which won the FA Cup last month.

But having been informed by Mikel Arteta that Leno would return as No.1, Martinez asked to leave the club in order to be a first-choice elsewhere.

“Now I’ve had that feeling where I had my chance at Arsenal,” the Argentinean said on Instagram.

“Season after season I was always trying to come back to the club I love to try and have my chance.

In spite of assisting Arsenal to win the FA Cup and community defend glory within the absence of injured starter Bernd Leno, Martinez is expected to sign up for Villa in a £20million deal.

Martinez joined Arsenal from Independiente in 2010, though the Argentine goalkeeper has regularly been 2d or third preference at Emirates Stadium.

“I had 11 years on the membership, and even if it turned into a hard road for me, and i suffered via my time at Arsenal, today I’m happy and that I tried to show younger goalies how work pays off.

“All of them understood at Arsenal and that they help me with my decision. The Arsenal fanbase was continually there for me, I felt their love, he said.

“Even if Bernd got injured this season, I acquired masses of messages like ‘we consider in you’, ‘you are our goalie’. That made me confident, made me win video games and made me the keeper I’m today.

“They understood my tale and that they love the manner I worked inside the membership. I am so satisfied to be a part of the Arsenal own family for eleven years.”
