BREAKING: Imo Govt Allegedly Uncovered A Warehouse Where Okorocha’s Family Kept Looted Properties

Imo state governement has allegedly uncovered a warehouse where Okorocha’s Family Kept Looted Properties secretly. The Jasper Ndubuaku-led Imo State Committee on the Recovery of Move-able Assets belonging to the State Government, have made a breakthrough on their job.

Acting on a tip off, the team discovered a massive warehouse Friday afternoon.

The committee on recovery of missing government movable property in Imo state was set up by Emeka Ihedioha, governor of Imo state, shortly after he was sworn in.

Jasper Ndubuaku, the committee chairman, said some of the government properties recovered include 279 Prado SUVs, 27 pay-loaders and 27 lorries.

Addressing journalists in the state, Ndubaku said some government vehicles were sold at “give-away prices to political associates” and that the sales would be reassessed.

He said 67 vehicles were taken away from the state government house in Owerri while “all past commissioners in the state went away with the vehicles in their various ministries.”

He added that 150 transformers bought by Okorocha were also taken away by the government officials, while  items such as cutlery, plastic seats and generators used by former commissioners were not left out.

“We went from ministry to ministry and house to house and discovered to our dismay, that officials of the immediate past administration of Rochas Okorocha looted all property in their possession including chairs, spoons and other cutleries among others,” he said.

Ndubuaku said the committee has the names and contacts of all those said to have looted the property, and called on them to return them back without further delay.

The facility, located along Aba Road, is alleged to belong to Nkechi, the wife of former Governor, Rochas Okorocha, now a serving senator representing Imo West Senatorial district.

According to DAILY POST, it took spirited intervention to stop the youths from setting the entire warehouse ablaze.

The discovery of the warehouse follows the sealing off of an estate also allegedly owned by Nkechi.

The property is located in the Akachi area of Owerri, the state capital.

The blocks of flat and bungalow were allegedly built with state funds and proceeds of corruption.

You will recalls that EFCC, had on Wednesday confirmed the seizure of assets and properties linked to Okorocha, his wife, daughter as well as associates including son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, who served as his Chief of Staff.

A statement by its spokesman, Tony Orilade said “the marking of the properties which is a fall-out of our painstaking investigation, is as a result of the failure of the suspects to honour the Commission’s invitation for questioning on the propriety of their acquisition”.
