Exposed: Power Play That Compelled DSS To Release Ex-CBN Governor, Mailafia After Six-Hours Of Interrogation

The former CBN Governor, Dr Obadiah Mailafia, was interrogated on Wednesday, having been invited to the DSS office in Jos.

A crowd gathered outside the Jos office of the Department of State Services while the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria was been questioned.

Mailafia was later released after six-hours of interrogation and was later released at about few minutes past 6 pm.

Mailafia had been invited by the DSS to appear at its office on Wednesday following an interview he granted to a radio station in which he accused a northern governor of being a commander of Boko Haram.

Mailafia arrived at the DSS office located on West of Mines Street around 12:30 pm in an ash-coloured Range Rover vehicle marked Abuja 843 LX.

He was immediately ushered into one of the offices alongside his lawyer, Pius Akubo, SAN, while others who came with him in solidarity were barred from entering the premises.

Those, who were denied entrance, were later joined by placard-carrying protesters who demanded the release of the former CBN deputy governor.

Dr Obadiah Mailafia, on Monday disclosed that some repentant terrorists revealed to him that a serving Northern governor was the commander of the Boko Haram sect.

Mailafia revealed during a radio programme in Abuja while speaking on the current crisis in Southern Kaduna.

He said he had a chat with two repentant terrorists, who identified the Northern governor to him.

Mailafia said Boko Haram had already infiltrated Southern Nigeria, adding that their plan was to spark a second civil war.

He said, “Some of us also have our intelligence networks. I have met with some of the bandits; we have met with some of their high commanders, one or two who have repented, they have sat down with us not once, not twice.

“They told us that one of the Northern governors was the commander of Boko Haram in Nigeria.

He insisted that Boko Haram and the bandits are one and the same and have a sophisticated network.

He further stated that “during this lockdown, their planes were moving up and down as if there was no lockdown.

They were moving ammunition, moving money, and distributing them across different parts of the country.
