My Next Move After Meeting With Buhari And Governor Wike Will Shock You – Obaseki

The embattled Governor of Edo State,  Godwin Obaseki has revealed that he will make his next political moves known after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Obaseki, who was disqualified from the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in the state, said he would also consult his supporters to know what next to do.

Obaseki, who is seeking a second term in office, said on his Twitter handle on Sunday, his disqualification was unjust.

“I appreciate the sustained show of solidarity, support and goodwill from Edo people and Nigerians in the face of injustice by the @OfficialAPCNg screening committee,” he wrote.

“I will be making my next move known after I complete consultations with my supporters and meet with @MBuhari.”

Chairman of the APC screening committee, Prof Jonathan Ayuba, had informed the Governor was disqualified because of a “defective” certificate.

The APC National Working Committee (NWC) upheld the disqualification, alleging Obaseki also unduly interfered in Edo House of Assembly affairs.

However, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has dangled an orange branch before Governor Obaseki who is weighing all the available options  left to pursue his second term agenda in the state.

To actualise his second term objectives, Obaseki has traveled to Rivers state to consult with his friend and colleague, Governor Nyesom Wike.

Governor Wike on Sunday received his embattled Edo counterpart Godwin Obaseki at the Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt where both men met briefly in a closed  door meeting.

Details of the meeting were sketchy but there were speculations they might not be unconnected with the political future of Obaseki, who has been disqualified from contesting the primaries of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Edo.
