How Police Arrested Military Officer With Indian Hemp

The Operatives of the Jigawa state police command have arrested a military personal with 169 blocks of herbs suspected to be Indian hemp.

The State commissioner of police, CP Bala Zama Senchi made the disclosure while briefing Newsmen on the command’s achievement at the police headquarters in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.

He revealed that the suspect was arrested by the Operation Puff Adder, while on patrol along Sankara to Amaguwa in Ringim.

The Police boss gave the name of the arrested military officer as Cpl. Muzambilu Abdullahi. He was allegedly arrested while on his official military uniform and with 169 blocks of Indian hemp.

“The suspect was arrested after their vehicle, a Toyota Camry with registration number KTU 833 DK had an accident,” he stated.

The Police commissioner in his statement alleged that the suspected military officer was in the war against Boko Haram but absconded from service for over seven months.

On his part, the military officer said he was invited by one Alh. Abubakar of Lokoja in Kogi State to escort him to Maigatari in Jigawa state without him knowing he was carrying Indian hemp in his vehicle.

After the accident,  the military officer was reported to have awaited the Police without knowing that the owner of the vehicle had already absconded to an unknown destination.

This online news platform understands that the Military officer suspected something wasn’t right as he stood gallantly, and sighting the Police officers approaching them; while the owner of the vehicle absconded, knowing the gravity of the offense he has committed.

He said he was on a medical leave of about one year after he suffered gunshot injury in the fight against insurgents in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
