Frank Lampard Unveils His Offensive Style To Lead Chelsea To Victory Again

Frank Lampard has proved once again that his tactical managerial versatility last week as he perfectly propelled his team to do the impossible against Pep Guardiola to beat his Manchester City side.

This weekend he will also need to show another aspect of his skill in order to beat Leicester City in the FA Cup.

As a result of the superlative performance, Chelsea now has every chance of winning the FA Cup and I’d certainly be tempted to sign up with Real Football and bet on them getting their own back on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and beating Manchester United in the Semi-Finals at least.

Yesterday, Lampard turned offensive and told his players during half time that they were ‘not good enough for the Chelsea badge’ after an extremely lacklustre display, Lampard described as the worst he has seen during his time in charge.

And just like that, there was no more Mr Nice guy. Lampard then replaced three of his underperforming players Reece James, Billy Gilmour and Mason Mount at half time in what was a bold move.

But once again, it totally worked, and so did his hard-hitting half time words of encouragement.

The three main substitutes are Ross Barkley, Cesar Azpilicueta and Mateo Kovacic who were quick to make an instant difference and changed the game, with Barkley scoring what turned out to be the winner and the only goal of the game.

Chelsea came out firing in the second half and looked like a totally different set of players to the slow and lazy eleven that started the game.

But Lampard jeering them up and challenging them at half time, made them react in the exact same way that The Blues boss was looking for, and it essentially won them the game and saw them through to the last four of the competition.

This once again showed how adaptable, pragmatic, and reactionary Lampard can be in order to win matches, something that we perhaps didn’t quite see enough of before the lockdown and stopping of football.

But this was just another great example of how a manager can win matches for the club, and although it is essentially up to the players on the pitch, a manager can literally make the timely difference at just the right time in any game.

With his perfect use of three subs on 45 minutes was a stroke of genius. Lampard is truly the leader of this team.
