World Teachers’ Day: Workers in Ekiti call for better welfare
The day October 5th of every year is a day set aside by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to celebrate the teachers’ contributions to global development annually where the world appraises their collective challenges and discuss the way forward.
In Ekiti State, the event was celebrated at the instance of the State Government with the Theme: Leading in Crisis, Re-imagining the “Future”
The Commissioner for Education in the State said the Government has concluded plans to ensure more capacity building training to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of teachers in the State.
The Governor while congratulating the teachers on this Year’s occasion of World Teachers’ Day said he was fully aware of the challenges confronting teachers in the State.
He promised to clear every arrear owed them; stressing that to achieve the goal of his administration; development must cut across all aspect of the economy
