Secretaries to State Governments in the North East have raised the alarm over the rising cases of drug abuse among youths in the region.
They said that this trend is closely linked with the rise of banditry and terrorism in the North East.
The Secretaries from the Northeast states of Gombe, Bauchi, Adamawa, Yobe, and Taraba states demand a strong policy to curb the menace.
Proper enforcement and approach are needed by the state governors of the northeast in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency with arrest security agencies are needed to arrest the trend.

The Secretaries assure its recommendations would be submitted to the Governors ahead of the quarterly meeting of the North East Governors forum scheduled to hold in March this year.
