Breaking: Former CBN Deputy Governor, Obadiah Mailafia is Dead. A family member who confirmed his death to AIT.live said he died on Sunday morning at about 8 am after a brief illness.

Mailafiya who hails from Sanga Local Government in Southern Kaduna died at the age of 56.

The late former CBN Deputy Governor fought a good fight defending his minority tribe and others across the nation.

You will recall that two weeks ago, on the 5th of September, the former Deputy Governor of the Central of Nigeria, Obadiah Mailafia,  lamented the continued fall of the Nation’s Naira in the international market, describing the development as an impediment to national development.

Late Mailafia made this known while addressing newsmen in Akure, the Ondo State capital. He attributed the fall to poor micro and monetary policies of the President Buhari led federal government.

The former deputy governor of the apex bank said, excessive borrowing and over-dependence on the importation of goods, have led to a high rate of inflation in the country.

While calling for an effective mechanism to check the trend, Malaifa noted that the present status quo might put manufacturers and other investors in a more difficult situation. he warned.
He will be greatly missed by the downthrown in Nigeria.
