Killings in Plateau: Gen. Useni Task Residents, Farmers To Rise, Protect Themselves And Crops
The destructive activities of suspected herdsmen in the Northern Plateau are taking a frightening and dangerous dimension.
Many lives have been lost and over 800 hectares of farmlands worth millions of Naira destroyed, even recently.
The situation has attracted reaction from across the nation, with the latest from the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja and Chairman, Board of Trustees, North Central Peoples’ Forum, Lieutenant General Jeremiah Useni.
Worried by the ugly trend, General Useni says, it is time for residents, and farmers in the country to rise up and defend themselves and their crops from faceless Fulani Herdsmen, bandits and other criminal elements.
He called on Nigerians to take ownership of their security, in the wake of recent challenges, rather than depend on the government.
