Doguwa Flood Disaster Shocked Me – Ganduje
The Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, on Sunday paid a condolence visit to the families of 18 Doguwa flood victims and shared the sum of N200,000 to each of the victims’ families.
In a press statement, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, said Ganduje also prayed for the repose of the souls of those, who died as a result of the downpour, which resulted in a flood that had never been witnessed for ages.
“When the information of this sad tragedy reached us, we were indescribably shocked. May Allah forgive the victims, who died as martyrs, washed away by the flood. May He give them the ultimate reward of Jannatul Fiddaus, Ameen,” the governor prayed.
They came from Doguwa town of Doguwa Local Government Area of the state, about 200 kilometres away from Kano metropolis.
The respective family members of the victims, who expressed appreciation to the governor and his entourage, also prayed for the successful completion of his tenure, come 2023.
