Kaduna Mayhem: 34 Killed in Zango Kataf Within 48 hours.
26 people were reported killed and many injured by armed men in the early hours of Tuesday in six different communities in Ayap chiefdom in Zango Kataf local government area of Kaduna state.
Public relations officer of the Atyap community development association ACDA Marcos Pius who spoke to Newsmen said the armed men came in large numbers with dangerous weapons shooting sporadically and split themselves into various groups to attack six communities at the same time, killing and leaving several others injured.
The villages that suffered the attacks include Kachechere, Kakwa, Magamiya, and Abuyap.
The latest attack comes a day after suspected armed bandits attacked Makarau-Jankasa in the same chiefdom in the early hours of Monday and left 9 persons killed.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has assured farmers in the country of timely distribution of farm inputs as part of measures to ensure food security.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, represented by Adegoke Daramola, gave the assurance in Minna, the state capital while flagging off the distribution of improved potato seedlings to farmers.
Daramola stressed the need for the farmers who are yet to form cooperative societies to do so to benefit maximally from government interventions,
He also advised the farmers to abide by laid down guidelines and told them how to effectively use the seedlings on their farms.
Galadima advised the farmers to return seedlings identified bad, for replacement, He said Nigerian farmers are hardworking and committed to cultivating the crop for local consumption and export with adequate and timely support from tiers of government.
Representatives of Farmers from all the twenty-five local government areas of the state present to take the seedlings to the target beneficiaries.
