Ebonyi Government Earmarks N3 Billion For Youth Empowerment

The Ebonyi State Government said it has concluded plans to spend roughly N3 billion on what it calls the #EndSARS Youth Empowerment Scheme in the State.

Governor Dave Umahi disclosed this at the flag-off ceremony of a one-week #EndSARS Youth Summit in the State Capital, Abakaliki.

Selected youths from the 13 Local Government Areas of the State are participating in the summit scheduled to last till March 10.

The Governor explained that the youth empowerment scheme will provide at least 3,000 youths in the State who applied and qualified for the program with substantial capital to set up their own business projects and become self-reliant.

Governor Umahi insisted that his administration has done well in the area of Human Capital Development, contrary to impressions in some quarters.

The Ebonyi State #EndSARS Youth summit is a fallout from the anti-police, anti-bad governance protests by Nigerian youths in many parts across the country in 2020.
