Chelsea Completes £50m Transfer Deal For Ben Chilwell
Soccer star Ben Chilwell, has officially joined Chelsea FC from Leicester in a transfer worth £50m ahead of the new season.
Chilwell joined Chelsea from Leicester to team up with Frank Lampard’s side ahead of the 2020/21 Premier League season, with the left-back set to be a key player.
He has signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with Frank Lampard having finally landed his first-choice left-back target.
On making the move to west London, Chilwell said: “I am delighted to be joining Chelsea at this very exciting time for the club.
“I’m looking forward to being a part of this young, dynamic squad led by Frank Lampard as we challenge for honours next season.
“I can’t wait to get started and hopefully it won’t be long before we’re playing in front of the Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge.”
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added: “We are very pleased to have completed our third addition to our exciting squad for the coming season.
“Ben brings plenty of top-level experience playing in the Premier League, Champions League and at the international level, despite his young age.
“We are confident Ben will adapt very quickly to being a Chelsea player and with the fixture programme for 2020/21 especially busy, he is a fantastic addition to the squad needed to challenge for honours.”
Chilwell could feature for the Blues as soon as Sunday with Brighton hosting their Premier League rivals at the Amex Stadium.
Additionally, the game will also see fans return as part of a government trial scheme.
Up to 2,500 match tickets will be sold for the contest on the south coast, with just over two weeks to go until the new season kicks off.
Chelsea’s first Premier League game of the campaign comes on Monday, September 14, and funny enough, it is a way to Bright on again.
