Jesus Christ’s Death Gives Us Life Everlasting
The Death of our Lord Jesus Christ indeed is the offering for our redemption been made an eternal offering for the remission of our sin. His Birth, Death and Resurrection secured our life through His Death on the Cross.
I watched a video the other day of a father riding across the United States on his bicycle to raise money and awareness for organ donors.
One-stop was in Louisiana to meet the person who received his daughter’s heart after her sudden and tragic death. As he put a stethoscope on the man’s heart, he realized that her death gave life to this man. When we look at the cross, we need to understand that Jesus’ death gives us life everlasting.
Read Mark 9:31 And You Will See The Truth
“For He was teaching His disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him; and when He has been killed, He will rise three days later.”
Couldn’t Believe It Yet It’s True
Jesus told the disciples several times that He would have to die but that He would rise again. Each time they heard the first part and were so grieved by it that they didn’t hear the second part. Even after Jesus’ death, they forgot His words about His resurrection. It wasn’t till the ladies at the tomb told them, and Jesus appeared to them in the upper room did it dawn on them that He was telling them all along.
Jesus Willingly Went To The Cross To Save You
Some people have such a hard time with the brutal death of Jesus that it is hard for them to grasp all of the good that came out of it. They acknowledge that Jesus forgives sins and that we are granted eternal life in heaven with Him, but you can tell they wish it could’ve come through other means. The violent death on the cross is too much for them to handle. What they forget is that Jesus went willingly to the cross. No one forced Him.
Jesus’ Death Gives Us Life
Jesus’ death on the cross was necessary. It satisfied the wrath of God against sin in the world. God hates sin, but He loves the sinner and longs to be close to them. It’s the sin that prevents that, and Jesus willingly stepped in and covered those sins and bridged the gap between God and us.
The Good News for You
Jesus has good news for you. The Gospel means Good News. Like the dawn of a new day, Jesus brings good news that can change your life. His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave brings victory over sin and death in our lives.
1 Corinthians 15:1-11
Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved if you hold fast to the word I preached to you unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.
Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God, I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.
The Good News of the Gospel presented to you
1 Corinthians 15:1-11 is one of the clearest presentations of the Gospel in all of Scripture. Christ died for our sins, buried, raised on the third day. He died to become the perfect sacrifice to appease the wrath of God. Because of that, our sins could be forgiven. He was buried, but death couldn’t keep him down. On the third day, he was resurrected from the grave. This was witnessed by the disciples and more than five hundred people before he ascended to heaven. He also appeared to Paul on the road to Damascus. By that grace, Paul was called to be an Apostle even though he was the biggest persecutor at that time. God’s grace is amazing! It changes lives and sets us on a whole new path.
Do you believe the Gospel?
Paul was transformed by the Gospel. Because of that he never took it for granted and worked hard to preach the Gospel. The Gospel should transform us and produce a change in our life. We should be filled with a desire to be used by God. We should always be aware of what we were before Christ and humbled that he died for us. There should be continual gratitude in our hearts for saving us. Live out the Gospel transformation daily. Accept the good news for you.
