Nigerians Celebrates Bob Manuel As He Turns 50 Years

Nigerians today Monday 20th April 2020 celebrates with Bob Manuel Udokwu, a renowned Nigerian actor, producer, director, a politician, and a television personality as he turns to Gold.

Below are some things you may not know about him but you will better informed about him today.

He was born on the 18th of April, 1970 in Enugu in southeastern Nigeria. He hails from Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Bob Manuel had his primary education in St. Peters Primary school and Hill Side Primary school both in Enugu State. He later went to Oraukwu Grammar School where he obtained the usual primary and secondary school certificates respectively.

He later went to the University of Port Harcourt where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts in 1990 and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Lagos.

Bob Manuel acting career started in his University days and was subsequently elected President of the Nigerian University Theatre Arts Association at the University of Port Harcourt in 1989. He was also the coordinator of NYSC Drama Group in his mandatory service year in Oyo State, Nigeria in 1991.

He joined Nollywood in 1992 and had his debut movie “Living In Bondage”. It was the same movie that gave Nollywood wide recognition both locally and internationally as most Nigerians who hitherto had little or no regard for our local movies started having interest and watching our local movies.

He again acted another hit movie, a romantic blockbuster movie “When the Sun Set”. He, however, rose to popularity in another blockbuster movie ‘Checkmate’, a movie that earned him an award at Thelma and Reel Awards for Best Actor in a supporting role.

Bob Manuel is an exceptionally creative and talented Nollywood actor, gifted in acting and interpreting movie roles to make acting as real-life situation. He can as well take any character assigned to him by producers and directors in the industry in Nigeria.

He is a prolific Nollywood actor with over 100 movies to his credit. Some of the movies include Blood Brothers, One Dollar, Beyond the Altar, My Time, Evil Genius, Living In Bondage, Black Maria, Heaven after Hell, A Time To Love, Endless Tears among others. He features alongside top stars in the industry like Pete Edochie, Kate Henshaw, Genevieve Nnaji, Kanayo O. Kanayo, and other stars.

He is one of the strong pillars of Nollywood who has made tremendous contributions to the growth and development of the Nigeria Movie Industry.

This veteran Nollywood actor was given a political appointment under Peter Obi in Anambra State in 2012.

Bob Manuel also anchors Gulder Ultimate Reality Show, which many viewers described as an excellent presentation.

His next quest is to serve as the next Governor of Anambra state.
