Breaking: Nigeria Records First Death, Four New Cases of COVID-19, Bringing Total Number to 40
The federal government has confirmed the first death from COVID-19, had also recorded four new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number in the country to 40.
Announcing this Monday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said the case was a 67 year old male who returned to Nigeria following a medical procedure in the United Kingdom.
It said: “He had underlying medical conditions, including multiple myeloma and diabetes, and was undergoing chemotherapy.”
Of the 35 cases, 32 are currently on isolation and treatment, two have been discharged, while one has died.
Stating this Monday night, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said of the four cases, three were from Lagos while one was from the Federal Capital Territory.
It said: “Two of these cases are returning travellers.”
