Corona Secondary School’s PTA Donates Water Treatment Plant, To Citizenship And Leadership Training Centre, Apapa, Lagos.
The Corona Secondary School Agbara, Ogun State through the Parent Teachers’ Association on Sunday donated a newly built water treatment plant and other materials to the citizenship And Leadership Training Centre, Apapa, Lagos.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the school’s PTA Deputy Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Egwuatu commended the centre for her resilience in moulding the lives of students from across the country through physical and mental training, exercises over the years.
According to Dr. Egwuatu, “Corona Secondary school is known for excellence and the PTA of the school supports every noble course that will improve the lives of our children and society.” “Corona Secondary School over the years has been supporting the centre in the past”.
“However, when our attention was drawn to the fact that the centre lacked portable drinking water amidst plenty of water, We took it upon ourselves to meet the need as quickly as we can, and to the glory of Almighty God, and the support of Corona School Students, and staff of the training centre, we are here today commissioning the water treatment plant in the name of the father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen,” she declared and commissioned the project.
The Sea school coordinator Mr.Mustapha T. Oladare expressed joy over the donation of the water treatment plant to the school. He said “ on behalf of the management of Citizenship And Leadership Training Centre, Apapa, Lagos, we say a big thank you to the management, students and the PTA of Corona Secondary school, you are the pacesetter among others” “I want you to know that Corona students are one of the best attendees to be reckoned with over the years. The students are well behaved and very supportive”, may God bless you more, thank you the parents for a good job well done.”
The St. Francis Eagle Award for Excellence was presented to Corona Secondary School which was received by the principal of the school, Mrs. Chinedum Oluwadamilola and thank the Centre for the wonderful things they are doing to contribute to nation-building. “Because we believe in grooming the next generation for better leadership in the near future, we do not shy away from responsibility”, “we sincerely appreciate what the training centre has been doing over the years”, she said.
According to Mrs. Oluwadamilola Chinedum, “the Corona Secondary School students over the years have participated in activities at the centre, contributing in their quota in nation-building, and we will do much more as the Lord prospers us and grants the grace to do so” she said.
In his closing remarks, the Assistant Coordinator of the Centre, Dr. Ekundayo Olubunmi FF, thanked the Corona Secondary School’s PTA. “ I want to thank you especially for the gifts and services rendered to humanity through us, which we are a beneficiary of your benevolence”.
“We sincerely appreciate you and pray that the Lord continue to bless everyone that contributed to make it a dream comes through”.
“We believe that investment in the education of our children will secure a bright future for our nation, and in line with our slogan which is “build a man, build a community”, the Centre is resolutely committed to building the man and his community and therefore building the future generation”, he said.
He further called on corporate bodies and individuals to continue to support the centre as it lacks a lot of amenities” he stated.
