Microsoft Partners With Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation To Empower NGOs In Africa With AI Tools
Since launching in 2017, Microsoft has awarded 236 AI for Earth Innovation Grants to individuals and organisations committed to using AI for the good of the planet.
In the Middle East and Africa, the company has awarded 34 grants to recipients across 12 countries, empowering people like Ketty Adoch in Uganda, who used the grant to develop an AI solution that detects, quantifies and monitors land cover change.
Now, Microsoft is looking to empower even more change-makers dedicated to building a more sustainable future.
Through a new partnership with the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation and the National Geographic Society, Microsoft is awarding new grants to fellow pioneers in the Middle East and Africa. Individuals and organisations developing projects that use AI for global environmental impact are encouraged to apply for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation & Microsoft AI for Innovation Grant before before 31 July.
